Understanding-Praising You in the Storms

The storm and trials of life are in full force and raging. With each minute of everyday there is no telling when the wind is going to gain so much force that it gusts or the tears rain so much that there is a flood. The more I draw closer to God the more storms that keep coming and getting stronger. I cry out, "God help me, I need you, I need you, help me please! I just don't understand."

It is during this time I think and question, "God are you carrying me right now? I can't feel you, my peace is gone, I am struggling, I am overwhelmed, are you there? What am I to do, where do you want me what direction am I to take? I don't understand."

In my quiet time this morning with God I told him with tears raining down, "I just don't understand, I just don't understand." After my quiet time I got on the computer and first thing I saw was a post that said, "The LORD directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way. Proverbs 20:24"

Then I played the song by Casting Crowns, Praise You in This Storm. Here is a small portion of the song...
"I was sure by now, God, you would have reached down, and wiped our tears away
stepped in and save the day.
But once again, I say "Amen!"
And it's still raining...As the thunder rolls,
I barely hear, you whisper through the rain.."I'm with you"
As your mercy falls,
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives...and takes away
And I praise you in this storm, and I will lift my hands.
You are who you are, no matter where I am
And every tear I've cried you hold in your hand
You never left my side, and though my heart is torn...
I will praise you in this storm."

Thank You God that YOU understand and I don't have to, Thank You God that I can praise you through this storm and know that you are with me. As I listen to the birds chirping and the still of the morning I thank you God for your perfect timing and your unfailing love.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perserverance." James 1:2-3
